A Set of Eight Italian Art Deco Oak Dining Chairs, by Vittorio Valabrega
Each chair has a gently arched and bowed top rail with rounded corners, continuing into the back uprights. It encloses an open lattice back of two vertical splats intersected by three horizontal rails. The seat is overupholstered in dark brown glazed linen, secured with brass studding. The chairs stand on square-section legs with softened edges, the rear legs slightly splayed.

The Valabrega Brothers company was opened in Turin in 1884 and became known for the production of fine-quality Liberty-style furniture, with Vittorio Valabrega (1861–1952) becoming the owner of the company in the mid-1890s. The firm's reputation was secured at the great international exhibitions of the period. It won a silver medal at Turin in 1898, a gold medal at the Paris Exposition Universelle of 1900, the Jury Grand Prize at Milan in 1906 and a gold medal at Turin in 1911
