For the 2014 Adelaide Biennial Del Kathryn Barton presents both painting and the moving image. Her 9-metre-long painting the heart land immerses the viewer in dynamic colour and exquisite detail. Barton’s feminine protagonist, who grows in arboreal form from a subterraneous heart, continues the artist’s enduring fascination with the female journey. Through a collaboration with filmmaker Brendan Fletcher, Barton has made a companion moving image work entitled the human dress with Remy Hii.
