Italian Renaissance Style Painted Mirror
The square plate is set within a cassetta frame of classic Tuscan form. The moulded outer edge and raised inner sight moulding are painted in a distressed pale grey over a black ground. Between them is a broad, flat ebonised frieze, stencilled at each corner with a stylised fleur-de-lys in grey. The plate is antiqued, with an even, speckled foxing throughout.
