Louis XV Period Bench Seat Signed St George
In carved walnut, of trapezoidal shape and resting of sex arched legs.
French, circa 1750

Signed St George
St George received master in 1730, died in 1756. Saint Etienne - George died in 1737 his workshop was taught "Grand Saint - Georges." He was an excellent seat manufacturer. One rarely finds its stamp on simple and standard-grade seats. The library of the arsenal retains seat bearing his stamp.
