The shaped, moulded top sits above a serpentine front articulated in three sections, with a projecting central column between two bowed outer sections. The front is fitted with three long drawers, each centred by a rosette-form brass escutcheon and fitted with brass rosette bail handles. The commode has a shaped, scalloped apron and rests on front feet carved as scrolled volutes, pieds en escargot. The walnut has a rich, warm patina.
