Each lamp raised upon a square stepped plinth base of moulded form, the standard comprising a boldly carved and gilded spiral-twist column of generous proportion, the whole retaining a warm parcel-gilt and distressed polychrome surface with pleasing tonal variation between the crests of the twist and the recessed channels, suggestive of an earlier hand-finished tradition.

Surmounted by a shaped empire-form pleated silk shade in ivory and cream, trimmed at both the upper and lower borders with a gold bullion fringe of chenille construction.
