Pair of Murano Due Pendants
Each with a deep hemispherical bowl of thick clear glass, moulded with tapering vertical ribs and applied to the sides with columns of pinched clear glass morise, enclosing a cluster of brass-sleeved candle lights, suspended from a gilt-brass stem sheathed in clear glass, beneath a conforming ribbed glass ceiling canopy, the underside centred by a faceted clear glass boss; electrified.

The heavy, ribbed clear glass and applied morise decoration of these pendants draw directly on the great Venetian lighting of the late 1930s and 1940s, when firms such as Barovier & Toso and Seguso Vetri d'Arte moved away from the delicate, polychrome chandeliers of the 18th-century tradition towards sculptural forms in thick cristallo.
